How does one feel comfortable about going to bible study at church when you don't know anyone there?

I've been in the same situation. First, go with the attitude that you're there to learn more about God. As you interact with people, you will naturally make friends. Even if you don't make any lasting relationships, you will have at least deepened your relationship with God. But, I think you will make friends. God bless and I'll say a prayer for you!

How does one feel comfortable about going to bible study at church when you don't know anyone there?

Reply:the most important thing is to seek God in your study... He will provide friends and mentors when you arent even expecting them!

Reply:First you should feel comfortable going to that church and the type of service they have then have an open mind about meeting new people and hearing %26amp; understanding what is being taught. Listen to your heart and trust your instincts.

Reply:by introducing yourself to at least one person and youll feel just fine and then make more friends by the time its over.. but you shouldnt be scared about not knowing anyone if your there for god.. go for him not for people.

Reply:You don't go for the social interactions, you go to learn more about the gospel. If you must relate to the others, relate through the fact that you all care enough to be better people to attend bible study.
Reply:Just go, you are there to study the bible, whether you know someone or not, and who knows you may make a new friend.
Reply:Just know that God is with you. So you are never alone.When you go into the church you will see the spirit will be withing you and with that you should never and will not be uncomfortable. Everyone is there to make you welcome.
Reply:I did this and had a good time. We are there for the same reason. you will make firends... there should be an age group for you too so you will feel more comfortable
Reply:I'm always a little off when I don't know anyone at a bible study just like any school class. But like the school classes I know each person in the room came to hear the subject - hence the term " study". It helps if I know a bit about some one in the group or at lest if the group is associated with a particular traditional approach to scripture. My return visit(s) would be based on a few factors: How much of the time focused on the bible; Was it a discussion type study (Like I prefer) or simply a reading and recital especially if the recital was somewhat preprogramed; Did the others (most likely everyone isn't a first time visitor) recognise a new face and attempt to set me at ease at any time; and how did the group react to my attempts to connect with an individual, the group,and most important the material presented ? Because if I can't recognise "the Word and the Spirit" in the study what's the use of the study? I could get social contact at the local gym.
