Teen study bible?
I'm so glad you're interested in reading about God!! the process of trying to become more Christ-like once you are saved is called sanctification :)

teen study Bibles are a great way to start, they have additional materials included in them that deal with issues that teens face every day. When it comes to translations, it can get kind of confusing. I would suggest getting a NKJV (New King James Version) or an NASB (New American Standard Bible). These translations are best because they're easy to read (unlike the older KJV or King James Version), but they're direct translations instead of translations of ideas like The Message or the NIV (new international version). You want the closest thing you can get to the original Greek and Hebrew as far as translations go.

Also, some publishers add things to their Bibles that aren't necessarily true...like skewed commentaries. To avoid this, I would go with a trusted publisher. My favorite is Zondervan.

Good luck...and read read read!!! It's good to start with a book from the old testament like psalms or proverbs along with one from the new testament like John. Psalms and proverbs is good because they can be divided daily (one proverb a day and app 5 psalms per day) and they offer great insight and instruction. John is the most comprehensive gospel and teaches you about Jesus' history as well as His ministry!
Reply:ALSO STUDY QURAN, YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE YOURSELF, IT'S LIKE THE RAYS OF LIGHT FROM A ONE SINGLE SOUCE (ALLAH), BUT YOU WILL REALIZE THAT HOW BIBLE HAS BEEN CORRUPTED BY ITS OWN PEOPLE OVER THE TIME AND YOU WILL ALSO SEE HOW ALLAH HAS PRESERVED QURAN SO IT MAY BE THE SOURCE OF GUIDANCE TILL THE END OF TIMES.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU. AMEN
Reply:I'd do a comparitive study that includes the KJV and anything else you want to read.

I don't like "new Bibles"

I'd really like to learn Greek and Hebrew and study the original texts.
Reply:new international version is easy to understand without changing it too much. Some words are just hard to pronounce but find one and pray over it and God will use it to speak to your heart.

You also might want to ask a Christian child whom you can relate to...they would surely know.
Reply:You might check Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com. They have books plus reviews for them.
