Life Application Bible or Quest Study Bible?

I want some advice on which Bible to get. Id like anwsers from someone who has either one, or even better, had both before. I want either a Life Application Study Bible, or a Quest Study Bible. Can anyone tell me which is better and explain why, and give me pros and cons for each?

Life Application Bible or Quest Study Bible?
If you attend a church, which Bible is more popular there? If you're in a Bible study, which Bibles are used?

Those are some things you might want to consider.
Reply:I've got both!

I love the NLT LAB firstly because of its translation and find the notes very helpful and practical.

I like the Quest Bible because of the many answers it provides to questions commonly asked about the text. I got the old edition but the new one seems pretty cool.

Both study bibles are targeted at different needs so any comparison is not fair. Personally I will recommend the LAB if you are the more "devotional" kind of Christian and less the "inquisitive" kind though I think we need to strike a good balance.
Reply:I've read the Life Application Bible - it is a good start. But any Bible that has 'explanations' or 'studies' will give you the slant of those who wrote it - so beware that the 'studies' are their interpretations.

90% of it is probably solid stuff, but there will be that 10% that is debatable among Christians - but still orthodox (meaning non-heretical).

If you pray for help in understanding before and after each reading you will be better off.

A bible like this was a big help in getting me started.
Reply:I have a life application Bible and I really like it but it is always best to have more than one resource, which is why I also have a Nelson Study Bible.
