What's a good bible study to do with my six year old boy?

I am a 25 year old single mother of a six year old little boy, David. I just recently left my fiance due to a strong divine instruction to do so. In the heartbreak I am enduring, I'm searching desperately to find something to take the place of the lonelines and heartwrenching pain I'm enduring. I thought my son and I could spend more time together in the Word, but his attention span is somewhat limited :) so I just thought maybe someone would have a good suggestion on here... thanks in advance, Debbie.

What's a good bible study to do with my six year old boy?
Go to a Christian book store and find books and Bible games for his age. They have lots of them. Watch Veggie-Tales with him and talk about the meaning on his age level. Encourage him to ask questions. Admit it when you don't know an answer. Enroll him in a Sunday School class and discuss what they did each time. Lots of ways to relate here. Most of all tell him how much Jesus loves him, and remember how much He loves you. Things will all work out for the best if you trust in Him.
Reply:Start off by not teaching him lies. Then go from there.
Reply:What a wonderfully fantastic idea you have there to teach your son about God. How awesome! You are an excellent mom! I so agree with Faye and the Bible Stories and Veggie Tales movies, too. And with the Pastor there, great if you spend 5 - 10 minutes in the Word. You tend to pick up stuff, too. If you take him to Sunday School, stay in the room with him. It'll be fun for him to see you there - also you'll know what he's learned that day. And you'll be able to discuss it with him later. Get some good Christian CDs. You'll find him humming the tunes throughout the day.

What I really like, too, is you might consider doing some community service with him. Go over to a local retirement home and just help the people serve some meals to the elderly - bring plates to the table. Your son can be in tow with a glass of fresh milk. I just know they'll adore him and he'll gain exposure to serving others. Maybe try that once a week and see how it goes. He'll be excited and exhausted all at the same time. Then you can both come home and take a nap together.

Just love on that boy - I have two of my own and they're 15 and 23. The time went by so very fast. I'm grateful for each and every moment I have with them. They still serve the Lord in our church.

I'm a single mom, too. My prayers are with you. katiefish %26lt;%26gt;%26lt;
Reply:Try teaching by using Strong's (zondervan) to identify words such as "joyful", occuring over twenty times in different bible verses. Build your lesson on his level with these bible verses. God Bless.
Reply:Hello ma'am Im a Pastor, as well as a dad of 4. We regularly just read the Bible together. My Kids love it. I dont force them for an hour, just 5 - 15 minutes. I dont drag things out. My kids aging from 4 -9 yrs old really like to read about King David, Jonathan in 2nd Samuel. Also in Judges they like Gideon, anything exciting! The Bible teaches as well as excites young ones if you get excited too. Its really fun to see their eyes light up and ask...did that really happen?

We even pray before they go to bed. We keep prayertime simple and short.

Hope this helps. God Bless
