Does anyone else feel closer to God during Bible study and prayer but not in church?

i am new to going to church, but i've been reading my bible and praying for months now. i feel a lot closer to God when I am alone praying or reading scripture. when i pray in church i feel close to God, but during hymns and stuff, i don't feel it.

Does anyone else feel closer to God during Bible study and prayer but not in church?
Your "alone time" with the Lord will always be more "personal"... and because of this, and the fact you are "alone" you are not worried about who sees you...hears you...and are more free to express yourself to the Lord than in public...you have more of an intimate time with Him than with those at "public worship" i suppose it will always be this way...i know i enjoy it more myself...church is cool, but i love my time with Him even more....to meditate, chew, think, go slower, absorb more easily, talk openly, deal with things heart to heart with Him... "Love It!" "Peace!" :)
Reply:One does not get closer to God by being in a church .The human body is the one true temple where the spirit of God forever dwells. One day the image of a Church will become a symbol of mans primitive approach to deity.I find that meditation works for me and I would give it a try.
Reply:I think the more you know about it the better or more comfortable you feel with it. I love learning everything I can about Christ, but during church I feel like I am not learning enough. Maybe it depends on the church, or the religion? I feel the same way, I get more into it and excited about it when I read, pray, or join study group.
