What is a good way to study the bible?

I am a stay at home mom who would like to get in good ways to study the Bible.

What is a good way to study the bible?
you should read it when your most suseptable to sustain the knowledge, prefferably when your mind and body are at ease.
Reply:Read the Bible

Get a Study Bible.

also you can buy books that go into each book in depth.

There are several Internet sites

One is Blue Letter Bible, it has some good info.

Find a Church that have Sunday School classes.

And read the Bible
Reply:I asked that question for years, someone told me about the daily walk bible, the book is set up for a daily reading with 365 sets, I was given one for Christmas and began reading on new years day, it takes maybe 15 minutes to read your days pages and the people that set this up have good tips and definitions of the subject your studying that day, they don't overly translate the work either it follows the king James closely using the language of today, I even checked mine against the Strong's concordance because that is a large concern of mine, anyway it's a great format and you can easily make up a day if you're unable to read for some reason, it takes a year %26amp; you have read the bible complete with a good chance of understanding it, it was probably the only way I would have ever gotten it read cover to cover, what a blessing.
Reply:THINK ABOUT IT:

Which is the oldest bible in existence? Is that the version you follow, or do you prefer a more recently doctored version?

ANSWER:

Hi, Definetly NOT. May be some sort of CORRUPT translation in the form of different language.

This is due to the handy work of Satan/Jinn/Devil and also human nature to follow their own desires rather than following the simple message of all the prophets that is to believe in ONLY ONE GOD in order to achieve the PURPOSE OF LIFE.

Regarding the revelations from ONLY ONE GOD, GOD chosen angel Gabriel through prophets (from first prophet Adam to last prophet Mohammad (PBU them all) including Jesus (PBUH) to deliver the simple message to believe in ONLY ONE GOD in order to achieve the purpose of life. But every time the message got corrupted until GOD sent the final prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to make the religion PURE from CORRUPTION. Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) always tell his companions/scholars to write it down as soon as the revelation from GOD comes via angel Gibriel. On top of that many people don't know HOLY QURAN is the only BOOK that has been memorised from begining till end that was the case during the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) life and after that. Now there are millions of muslim even the four years old memorised the whole QURAN unlike any other book. That's how the Quran is preserved in ORIGINAL form via written record as well as by memorisation.

There are only two scared books to follow, first is the HOLY QURAN and the other is the SAYINGS OF PROPHET (PBUH).

Regarding the HOLY QURAN:

Man or science and technology in their own limitations can’t answer this things/believes/struggle. Only thing left for the mankind is to find out from the ONLY ONE CREATOR that created everything that exists.

The thing is people don’t know what to follow. They follow something that haven’t said by prophets including Jesus (peace be upon him PBUH) himself. The solution to this is to do a research and find out the AUTHENCITY of the source or the books. It is not at all difficult in today’s world.

In Short: The ONLY PURE ORIGINAL WORD OF GOD is left on the phase of the planet is the HOLY QURAN that came with the prophet 1400 years ago without any SINGLE LETTER corrupted, that Guides, Faith with Proof, shows way of life, tells in details the mission of prophets including Jesus (peace be upon him PBUH), gives answers to all questions, solutions and tells much in details of what will be going to happen (past, present and future) and the purpose of existence, etc. The WORD OF GOD came with the SAME MESSAGE through prophets (from first prophet Adam to last prophet Mohammad (PBU them all) including Jesus (PBUH) and only person to interpret is the prophet of GOD at that time. Unlike HOLY QURAN all the other Books are corrupted and are not in the PURE ORIGINAL WORD OF GOD that’s is due to the handy work of Satan/Jinn/Devil and also human nature to follow their own desires rather than following the simple message of all the prophets that is to believe in ONLY ONE GOD in order to achieve the PURPOSE OF LIFE. In Muslim world there are many books available today in different languages of the ORIGINAL INTERPRETATION of the HOLY QURAN by the prophet of GOD about 1400 years ago that is the only interpretation that has to be follow to be the true follower of the prophet as commanded by GOD and the ONLY WAY to SUCCESS that is both in this WORLD and ETERNAL PARADISE. Regards,

How many of you believe that Mary is the mother of God?

ANSWER

NOT the true believers. True believers including all the 1.6 Billions Muslim present on the phase of the planet and all the creatures of the ONLY ONE GOD. Mary (peace be upon her PBUH) is the mother of prophet Jesus (peace be upon him).

This is the how GOD describes HIMSELF in HOLY QURAN chapter 112.

[112:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

[112:1] Proclaim, "He is the One and only GOD.

[112:2] "The Absolute GOD.

[112:3] "Never did He beget. Nor was He begotten.

[112:4] "None equals Him."

NO ONE can challenge this. Except ISLAM, all other religions on the phase of this planet including their so called human gods cannot fit in this category.

NO INTERCESSION except in accordance with GOD will (HOLY QURAN chapter 2)

[2:254] O you who believe, you shall give to charity from the provisions GOD have given to you, before a day comes where there is no trade, no nepotism, and NO INTERCESSION. The disbelievers are the unjust.

[2:255] GOD: there is no other god besides Him, the Living, the Eternal. Never a moment of unawareness or slumber overtakes Him. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. Who could INTERCEDE with Him, except in accordance with His will? He knows their past, and their future. No one attains any knowledge, except as He wills. His dominion encompasses the heavens and the earth, and ruling them never burdens Him. He is the Most High, the Great.

Infact THE HOLY QURAN is ORIGINAL WORD OF GOD in PURE FORM and the FINAL TESTAMENT for mankind from ONLY ONE GOD who have created everything that exists.
Reply:I think a good way to study the Bible is to read one page everyday, then think about what you have read.

This is what my mother taught me to do, and it has really helped me in my walk with the Lord.
Reply:First I would suggest praying before you read, that the spirit might be with you. Then be slow and diligent in your reading. If you become confused look at some of the cross references. I knew a guy who loved to study scripture by meticulously following every cross reference. That isn't my preferred method, but as long as your reading with the spirit in your mind and in your heart you will recieve what you need.
Reply:read it
Reply:Grab a devotional book at your local Christian bookstore. Then, pray, and dig in! Find a book that has you look up lots of verses and that you can write in. Or get a blank book to write down your insights. You can find books that cover specific topics, such as How To Pray, or you can find books that help you unravel a certain book of the Bible, such as Job. There's LOTS of stuff available, so check it out!! I also like to listen to worshipful music while I study, sometimes. Anyway, try some of these links:

Reply:Go at your own pace. Think about why what you just read is in the bible and how it relates to life right now. Look for the inspired meaning rather than a literal sense. If something doesn't sit right, go back and read it again. Also, keep a journal of your thoughts so you can see how progress works.
Reply:The best way to study the bible is with perspective. Before you get too far into the text, familiarize yourself with the true history of the bible and the men who assembled it into a single book. Only when you have learned that the Bible is an incomplete collection of christian texts pointing in a single direction; can you respect that there are other directions that ancient (a.k.a Jesus times) christians used to follow.

To believe that the bible is the only way you can understand God is dangerous thinking, as you must take in the spiritual experiences of your own life to truly connect with the spirit.
Reply:You should study the Bible only after having read Richard Dawkins book "The God Delusion", that should give you an interesting perspective.

We often need help to study God's Word.

We can Read God’s Word Aloud.

We may read silently when alone. In ancient times, however, private reading was done aloud. As the Ethiopian eunuch rode in his chariot, the evangelizer Philip therefore heard him read from the prophecy of Isaiah. (Acts 8:27-30) The Hebrew word translated “read” primarily means to “call.” So those initially unable to read silently and get the sense of the reading should not be discouraged from pronouncing each word out loud. The principal thing is to learn the truth by reading God’s written Word.

And Revelation 1:3 says: “Happy is he who reads aloud and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who observe the things written in it; for the appointed time is near.”

Topical Method of Study,

13 Topical study is the most progressive method of learning Scriptural truths. Concordances, listing Bible words alphabetically in their context according to book, chapter, and verse, make it easy to locate texts related to a certain subject. And such scriptures can be harmonized with one another because the Bible’s Author does not contradict himself. By holy spirit, he inspired some 40 men to write the Bible over a period of 16 centuries, and studying it topically is a time-tested way of learning the truth.

Our appreciation for Bible truth should motivate us to read and study the Christian Greek Scriptures along with the Hebrew Scriptures. This will show how the Greek Scriptures are linked with God’s purpose and will shed light on Hebrew Scripture prophecies. (Romans 16:25-27; Ephesians 3:4-6; Colossians 1:26.) Very helpful in this regard is the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. It was prepared by dedicated servants of God who took advantage of the increased knowledge available concerning the original Bible text as well as its background and idiomatic expressions. Vital, too, are the Bible study aids Jehovah has provided by means of “the faithful and discreet slave.”

15 Some may say, ‘Your publications make thousands of quotations from the Bible, but why do you take these from here and there?’ By quoting from here and there in the Bible’s 66 books, the publications draw upon several inspired witnesses to prove the truthfulness of a teaching. Jesus himself used this method of instruction. When he gave his Sermon on the Mount, he made 21 quotations from the Hebrew Scriptures. That discourse contains three quotations from Exodus, two from Leviticus, one from Numbers, six from Deuteronomy, one from Second Kings, four from Psalms, three from Isaiah, and one from Jeremiah. By doing this, was Jesus ‘trying to prove just anything’? No, for ‘he taught as a person having authority, and not as the scribes.’ That was so because Jesus backed up his teaching with the authority of God’s written Word. (Matthew 7:29) So did the apostle Paul.

16 In the scripture passage found at Romans 15:7-13, Paul quoted from three Hebrew Scripture sections—the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms. He showed that Jews and Gentiles would glorify God, and Christians should thus welcome people of all nations. Paul said: “Welcome one another, just as the Christ also welcomed us, with glory to God in view. For I say that Christ actually became a minister of those who are circumcised in behalf of God’s truthfulness, so as to verify the promises He made to their forefathers, and that the nations might glorify God for his mercy. Just as it is written [at Psalm 18:49]: ‘That is why I will openly acknowledge you among the nations and to your name I will make melody.’ And again he says [at Deuteronomy 32:43]: ‘Be glad, you nations, with his people.’ And again [at Psalm 117:1]: ‘Praise Jehovah, all you nations, and let all the peoples praise him.’ And again Isaiah [11:1, 10] says: ‘There will be the root of Jesse, and there will be one arising to rule nations; on him nations will rest their hope.’ May the God who gives hope fill you with all joy and peace by your believing, that you may abound in hope with power of holy spirit.” By this topical method, Paul showed how to quote scriptures to establish Bible truths.

The apostle Peter’s first inspired letter contains 34 quotations from ten books in the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms. In his second letter, Peter quotes six times from three books. Matthew’s Gospel has 122 quotations from Genesis to Malachi. In the 27 books of the Greek Scriptures, there are 320 direct quotations from Genesis to Malachi as well as hundreds of other references to the Hebrew Scriptures. In harmony with the precedent set by Jesus and followed by his apostles, when modern-day Christians make a topical study of a Scriptural subject, they quote from here and there in the whole Bible. This is especially fitting in these “last days,” when most of the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures are being fulfilled. (2 Timothy 3:1) The ‘faithful slave’ makes such use of the Bible in its publications, but never does it add to God’s Word or take away from it.—Proverbs 30:5, 6; Revelation 22:18, 19.

You might read the Bible for 15 minutes or work on a personal study project. As another possibility, what about making a slight adjustment in your weekly schedule? For example, if you are in the habit of reading the newspaper most days or watching the evening news on television, would it be possible to skip doing that just one day a week? You could use the time on that day for increased Bible study. If you replaced the news one day and devoted a time slot of 30 minutes or so to personal study, you would gain over 25 hours a year. Imagine the benefits of 25 hours of additional Bible reading or study! Here is another idea: Over the course of the coming week, analyze your activities at the end of each day. See if you can find something that could be omitted or curtailed to allow time for more Bible reading or study.—Ephesians 5:15, 16.

When preparing to study, you can lay out such things as your Bible, whatever publications you plan to use, a pencil or pen, and perhaps a notebook. But do you also prepare your heart? The Bible tells us that Ezra “prepared his heart to consult the law of Jehovah and to do it and to teach in Israel regulation and justice.” (Ezra 7:10) What does such heart preparation involve?

Prayer enables us to approach the study of God’s Word with the proper attitude. We want our heart, our inmost self, to be receptive to the instruction that Jehovah gives us. We trust Jehovah. (Proverbs 3:5-7) If we do not understand something, we do not presumptuously conclude that it must be in error. While searching and digging for the answers, we wait on Jehovah. (Micah 7:7) Like Ezra, we have the goal of acting on and teaching what we learn.

When you learn something, ask yourself: ‘How should this affect my attitude and my goals in life? How can I apply this information in solving a problem, making a decision, or reaching a goal? How can I use it with my family, in the field ministry, in the congregation?’ Consider these questions prayerfully, contemplating real situations in which you can put your knowledge to work.

Reply:This is a wonderful web-site that allows you to look up passages by verse, topic, or key word. It also has a zillion different translations of the bible which helps if you dont understand a passage right off. I just look at it worded a little different and eventually get the idea.

I also recommend you go to a Christian Book Store and spend some time browsing through the bibles. Find one that is more of a study bible with key notes and transcripts to explain the verses and chapters. You want to use a bible that you love. I just bought a NIV "Women of Faith" bible that I absolutely adore. The transcripts in it are written especially for women by women. Not only is it beautiful to look at (it is lavender leather bound by silver and although I have never seen a lavender cow it is beautiful)

Also buy you a beautiful notebook/journal so you can keep a spiritual journal. Each day write what God has revealed to you through your reading. Dont be afraid to write in your bible and highlight key verses.
Reply:I recommend always praying before you begin to let the Holy Spirit guide you to the knowledge and understanding God would like you to have. Remember the Bible says Jesus "opened the minds of His disciples so they could understand the Scriptures."

I also recommend starting your day with prayer, reading, and meditation on the word....its the best time to get the word in your mind and it really blesses the whole day!
