What is the difference between sunday school and bible study?

Day...

"Sunday School" usually denotes classes held either before or after a church's Sunday assembly. That is the only difference.

What is the difference between sunday school and bible study?
Easy question- Sunday school is where they teach you things that aren't necessarily in the bible; Bible study is where you learn the truth!
Reply:None really...It's another change in terminology..
Reply:To me, sunday school is for children. it teaches them Bible stories and they learn how to relate to it. There can be crafts and songs and stuff like that to help them learn. Bible study is usually for adults where either someone teaches parts of the Bible with a lesson to it or where the Bible stories are discussed. hope that helps!
Reply:Generally speaking, Sunday school is for children and those that only come to church on Sunday. Bible study is adults getting together outside of the confines of the church learning from one another. Sunday school usually has a teacher and follows a lesson plan or equivalent. Bible studies are usually topical in nature and surround a more general understanding.

Bible studies are sorta like Bridge clubs, or more social in nature usually. Sunday school is more formal and usually run by someone that is "older in the faith".

I hope this helps.
Reply:On Sunday's our Vintage Group meets (it's for seniors over 55 at our church - is that just not the cutest name!?!?) and they meet during second service - they call it Sunday School - and discuss the Pastor's message from first service more in depth.

I guess Sunday school denotes study on a Sunday. Bible study is given any day of the week. I also believe you can get even deeper in a Bible Study. Since you basically have a week to complete the tasks or research the passages and bring them back with you to the next lesson. You can get as deep as you want there. Might not have that opportunity on a Sunday.
