I'm curious how other people relate to these bible passages, and what you've taken from the book of Joshua. Also, how you apply these chapters to modern life.
Bible Study; Joshua Chapters 1-3?
Super Jules,
Wow! Only all three chapters? Would you like it double spaced?
Why don't you just get a commentary?
In Chapter 1, God gives promises to Joshua. God keeps His promises, so as long as Joshua had faith in those promises, God honored them.
I can relate to that because He keeps His promises to me.
In Chapter 2, Rahab was one of those Old Testament heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 it goes into why, and in James, James gets it wrong. Because it was not the works that saved Rahab, it was faith. God keeps His promises. Forever Lord, they word is settled in heaven. I can trust God today, and Rahab is a good example of those who also trusted Him.
In Chapter 3, God promises that they will pass through the River Jordan with the Ark of the Covenant. God, once again keeps His word. He did it then, He will do it today. That's why I have to hold on to a promise of God daily, so that it doesn't elude me when God picks the time when His promise will be fulfilled.
Reply:Obviously the Arabs must be wrong about who's land it truly is.
Reply:God is relling Joshua of Moses's death and that he now would be for him. for him to be strong and he was keeping his promis.
as we are told to day we have a land of promis that God has promis and God keeps his promises. we are to hold our head high and be proud of our inheritance. and that God would always be with us even to the end of the world.
(just my thoughts)
