Need bible study help?

I have been reading my bible everyday but my bf still gets frustrated with me because I don't always interperet some of the passages the same way he does.

I have found that I can read the same part over and over again and depending on my situation that day whats going on in my life it has meant different things to me to get through the good and the bad times

It is very serious about his christianity and I love how passionate he is about it.

are there any sites out there that will clarify christianity to me? Help me get a better understanding of where he is coming from?

Keep reading together. You'll never agree on everything in there. I don't always agree with my wife, pastor, family or Bible study teacher. That's what makes it interesting. Too many people put their trust in what others say about the Bible instead of reading it and studying it on their own. You 2 sound like you are doing it without aid from someone else. Good for you. Sometimes another persons opinion is worth getting, but you 2 are doing something that is a lost art. Studying the Bible without aids or help. Way too many people say "so and so said this is true in the Bible", without ever reading it for theirselves. ......Don't argue, but keep up the friendly discussions with each other. You'll be surprised if you keep going, how much you'll learn from each other.
Reply:Hey! EVERYONE goes through that.. but the only one who can explain it to you is the Holy Spirit, he wrote it. Pray before you read your bible, and ask God to reveal to you His word, and to make it alive. Your not always going to interpret something the same way someone does, because God will show you something different than perhaps He'll show your bf. Keep seeking God, and I promise you'll find Him. No one that has ever looked for Him has not found Him. All He wants is a seeking heart, and you sure have one.
Reply:wayofthemaster.com will help to clarify Christianity. Meanwhile, are you attending the same church as your boyfriend? Does he use any books to aid his bible study? Sometimes passages can be open to different interpretations, but don't interpret too loosely. It's awesome that you guys are both reading and studying. God says whoever seeks Him will find Him, so don't give up! And stay physically pure.

Reply:Tell him to losen up! There is nothing wrong with applying verses to your every day life in many different ways. That is what is meant by God's Word being "living and active"!
Reply:the question I will first ask if you are save ? if yes and you are new to the word of god he cannot force you he need to have patience because he did not learn everything once he became save he is learning just the same way you are he might be at a higher level or he may be trying to impress you that he know s more than you but pray and god will revealed himself unto you, you can read it over and over until you might read a different chapter and something come back to you about what you read a couple days ago it don't come the same time meditate and pray and ask god to grant you wisdom , knowledge, and understanding in his word and he would show you don't focus on your bf focus on what the word of god is saying to you don't feel bad you will understand it as you go along each day as you read don't be afraid to ask question if you don't know to your pastor etc.
Reply:You shouldn't be reading your Bible just to please your bf. I love to read my Bible and I understand it, but not every one has the very same verse just stick with them. Just keep reading and studying. Try going to www.family.org. They have all kinds of stuff that has helped me.
Reply:This is a wonderful site that can help you. Good luck.

Reply:Please read this with a quiet mind and open heart:

As a cherished and unique "daughter of G-d", you are entitled to your own interpretation of Scripture. . .and. . .more importantly. . .as this may change as you "grow in wisdom and stature. . .in favor with G-d and man".

Btw. . .do not be afraid to check out different Bible translations. . .don't just stick to one. . .because the "original" Bible is in classical Hebrew, Aramaic, and Street Greek. . .and there are a number of different intepretations that can be supported by various scholars. . .also literary styles (idioms!) change in time. . .and we have to apply a standard of relevancy when reading and studying a Book with portions that date back over 2,000 years!

And if you are not familiar with this particular translation: Eugene Peterson's "The Message". . .in Contemporary American English. . .well regarded. . .check out the Remix Edition because it includes book-chapter-verse format for ease in comparison.

Start with some simple and powerful books: The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John). . .Acts. . .Psalms. . .Proverbs. . .Jonah. . .then build from there!

Joining a study group is great but. . .same rule applies. .. you are entitled to your own opinion. . .G-d gave you the gift of reason. . .and the means to apply it. . .yourself. . .with His/Her Blessings!

Shalom to you on your Journey!
