I'm wondering if this is too much to fit into a 5-15min study.
Basic outline- God can use anyone for anything ,as long as we let him use us. He will give us the strength, he will give us the words.
And we need to build the foundation of our life on him and his words. He needs to be our strength, our fortess, etc. Is this to much and do these two things go together at all?
OK so I'm planning a bible study and?
5-15 minute studies?
Are these to new Christians, mature, or a mix of the two?
I don't know, John....15 minutes? (lol) OK, it could be done, no matter if a mixed group or not....I think I would start out with 2 sessions on the "God can use anyone"...entice and get them to thinking that "Hey! God loves to use the weak and foolish, so, there IS hope for me!
Then, tell them it all depends on whether their foundations are strong enough to build upon that depends on their being used effectively...and then go to what a good foundation is.
I don't know though....the Foundation topic alone needs more time....maybe lead into a study coming up which will be 5-15 minute study on just the Foundation? lol well, you asked!
The problem with most Christians today is they didn't have the foundation down pat before anything else and their foundations crumbled to dust before they COULD be used effectively by the Lord!
Peace be with you :)
Reply:It is a good word but why only 15 min.? You could teach for hours on this word.God Bless.%26lt;%26gt;%26lt;
Reply:A devotional is giving your testimony as far as what you feel about a subject. More importantly, it invites others to think about what you're saying.
A Bible study would involve people taking the time to read the Scripture (as a group or individually) then discussing it. Usually, the leader will have planned out questions. To do something like that, you would obviously need more time and have a plan of how to carry through the conversation.
What you're talking about would be fine for a 5-15 minute devotional. Usually (but not always), a devotional will start off with a Scripture passage then move into a personal story about how that Scripture makes sense in your life.
Hope this helps some!

Reply:That can be smooshed into a fifteen minute study, but if you really go into detail, you could turn that much material into a month long intensive training course.
Reply:sounds good, it's about living one's life Christ-centered, therefore submitting to Christ's will for our lives. Good luck and God bless!
Reply:It depends on the person. If you put time into the Bible studying time than go head. I was given the challenge by my former youth pastor and i am finally getting to read the bible. SO just pray and the answer will come to you
Reply:Your Youth Pastor was right on when he recommended doing a "devotional". Devotionals are written by someone else as sort of an inspirational start to your day. There are many out there and if all you have is 5 - 15 minutes, you might want to make many copies (from your PC is fine) and pass them out. Read the devotional out loud to the group, say a prayer, perhaps only light discussion clarifying what the devotional means and that's it. I hope you spark more lengthy Bible Studies from the introduction of "devotionals" in this one. Prayers to you! katiefish %26lt;%26gt;%26lt;
Reply:You need more than 5-15 minutes. The shortest bible study I ever went to was 1 hour. You may be able to squeeze things in 30 minutes.
Reply:I think these points can fit into a short study or a longer one, depending how much detail you put in. One idea that comes to mind is maybe to reverse the order - maybe start out with what you have here as the second point, about building on God, and Him being our strength, etc., and then talking about Him using us for anything as long as we let Him. The reason I suggest that is that the things He does through us are the outflow of our foundation and relationship with Him, and yes, I definitely think these two things go together.
Ask God to do the devotional through you.
I pray it will go well!
Reply:Sounds good to me. What are your Scripture references?
However, God can't use me in the NBA, etc.................. no matter how much I am willing to cooperate. It still has to be His plan and purpose and not mine.
These two things go well together........
Reply:you can use every word here, AND add some more.well put too.
proverbs19:21..there are many plans in a mans heart,nevertheless,..the LORDS COUNSEL-that will stand.
god bless you always!! good studying!
Reply:Yes they go together, and yes, it's too much for 5-15 minutes unless you make it a devotional and not a Bible study topic.
Reply:Why don't you just put down your Bible and come study me.
