Bible study? What day of the week is the Sabbath of God?

Genesis 2:1-3

1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested [a] from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.

Bible study? What day of the week is the Sabbath of God?
Saturday the 7th and last day of the week.
Reply:Jews say Saturday and in NYC on Saturday they close the stores in the Jewish section of manhattan called Delancey Street.
Reply:It really depends on who you ask, some will say Saturday and some will say Sunday, and there are those that believe it's in the middle of the week, so flip a coin and take your pick.
Reply:A better question would be who changed the Sabbath and why?

O
Reply:The old covenant sabbath was Saturday.

The new covenant sabbath is Sunday.

We live in new covenant times.

The old covenant is no longer in effect today, for anyone.
Reply:Some people argue the calendar has changed so we can't be certain.

But, although the Hebrew calendar has had some changes, their scholars ALWAYS very carefully counted to maintain the correctness of the 7th day. So that argument is moot.

We need only look at the Hebrew calendar to determine the answer to the question. The 7th day is the same as Saturday on the Roman calendar used by most of the Europeans and Americas.

Oddly, the sabbath commandment is the only one with the word, "REMEMBER", and it is the only one that has been challenged or changed by MAN.
Reply:The seventh day.

The Bible does not speak of Monday thru Sunday as being the days of the week.
Reply:Oh, Oh...I know...

Technically from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday.

But to chruch going folks it is Sunday
Reply:The Sabbath of God is the seventh day. His day of rest. It represents in shadow the coming of the lord. It is also referred to as the day of the lord and the Millennial kingdom of God. We have by faith entered the his Sabbath, those who have accepted the atonement. We do not worship God in traditions of man but in spirt and truth. Those who have by faith received Jesus are taught to go beyond the law and all days are the Sabbath days. All days are Holy.
Reply:various Jewish sects...have the sabbath as Tuesday at dusk...however...some massonic Hebrews have it as Wednesday at dusk..it was Cesar Augusta who "designanted" Saturday as the sabbath due to marketing day for Romans. He only agreed to a sabbath day when he realized the significance of the sabbath to Jewish leaders and to appease them in a small way
Reply:God commanded His people, Israel, to observe the sabbath and keep it holy. The Jewish sabbath has always been from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday.

Christians worship on resurrection day. The women went to the tomb to find Jesus on the day *following* the sabbath.

.
Reply:Saturday. Sunday is the first day of the week not the 7th
Reply:Saturday is the seventh day of the week and is therefore the Sabbath that God made for man at creation. It is also the 4th Commandment.

The day of worship has never been changed by God..the catholic church changed it to sunday thus fulfilling revelation when it says the Beast is the name of a man who thinks to change times and laws. They also changed the Ten commandments..taking out the one about idols and splitting another in 2.

This info is readily available in catholic books..freely admitted by them. They claim to have the God given authority.
Reply:saturday is the sabbath and sunday is the lords day
Reply:Sunday the first day of the week.
Reply:Catherine is right, Saturday is the Sabbath. Sunday is the Lord's Day. Seventh Day Adventists still keep the Sabbath while most other denominations go to church on Sunday.
