Mens Bible study just completed the book of John. Which new testament book should we study next? Why??

Samll local group. We intend to eventually go thru the the entire new testament. For various reasons, we are not ready for Matthew, Mark, Luke, Acts, Corinthians, Revelation. Which book would you study next, and why that book?

Romans or James
Reply:Probably either Acts or Romans. Acts continues right on into early church history and the commissioning of Paul. Romans is condensed theology and is good to compare it to the sayings of Jesus which you just studied.
Reply:The book of James.

Even though it's a small book, it is so full of information, it will actually take you a while to get through it.
Reply:1, 2 %26amp; 3 John. Then Revelations. It is the same author (John with the LORDs inspiration). Actually this is what the LORD told me to read not too long ago.

I realized that in John 21, John reveals that He is the beloved disciple. He reveals that Peter would be killed for the good news that John would have to wait. I believe wait for the Revelation %26amp; to record it for us. John was the beloved disciple witnessing Jesus on the cross.

John has 21 books in John, 3X7=21. 7 chapters in 1-3John. Jesus tells John to record Revelation %26amp; there are 7s in that book.
Reply:Cadillacman,

1 John, then do the rest of his epistles. Do not go to Revelations unless you have a gifted teacher with you.
Reply:I think your mens bible study should study the book of Revelations next. It is a very interesting book, and it also talks about the ending times, which is near.
Reply:Romans. All you need to know about salvation is contained in it.
Reply:I would have said Acts, but since you say you don't want to do that 1 Timothy. My reason is not a religious reason, I'd say because you're a men's group and it has advice for men. Nothing new, but since you want to eventually read the whole Bible and aren't ready for certain books, I figured it would be an easy read.
Reply:1 Corinthians. This is a great book and deals with a lot of the issus in a church!
Reply:Any of Paul's letters - they have so much application to real life. James and the Peters are great, too.
Reply:John is such a Spiritual Book. you might need to Move to Acts %26amp; Romans .
Reply:Romans

Galatians

Hebrews

-- for their theological content.

Cordially,

John
Reply:the letter of John
Reply:Continue with John's writings. 1John and 2John are both excellent books.

I think perhaps the reason John was so close to Jesus is because of his understanding of love.
Reply:Romans is my fave. why aren't you "ready" for the others? i also like Luke-as far as gospels go.
Reply:Luke
