I began bible study with KJV 1611, 43 years ago, have not found books to add anything to it, any one else ?

2Pet.1:20,21; All scripture no private interpertation.

2Tim.2:15; Study to show thy self approved, rightly divide the word of truth. John 8:32; Ye shall know the truth.

John 17:17; Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth. Philip.2:5; Take on the mind of Christ. Matt.4:4; Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

2Tim.3:16; All scripture is given by inspiration of God.

You must remember that the KJV is a translation of the original Greek and Hebrew. It is beautifully written and quite poetic in places. However, since its original compositon in 1611, there has been significant advances in biblical scholarship and our knowledge of the original texts, not to mention a greater number of actual ancient NT documents found. Moreover, over 400 years of language changes have happened since that time. So, while it is a lovely translation it is not fully accurate to today's meaning and today's scholarship.

I might also add that to read scripture as if it is the literal word of God is to misunderstand the nature of the composition of the biblical documents. They can still be authorative without this pernicious notion of inerrancy.
Reply:I admire your faithfulness to the word. You should teach what you know to others.
Reply:did you know that was written by a sissy? ill stick to my Catholic bible any day . how can any thing written by such an abomination as king James be holy?
Reply:I've been studying using my KJV too for the past 20 years and the only other book I have and use is a Strong's Exahusted Concordance. Mans books can be decieving just as doctrines of men are. Here's a site you might want to look at and share. It shows the differences in the Bibles compared to the KJV. Ater looking into it, I don't see why anyone would use one of those watered down versions.
