Bible study? What is the armor of God?
The Armour of God is so important to us in our walk with the Lord, it's given to us to protect us and to help us remain standing in what can be a fierce and raging battle. I pray that this message will help you to gain a deeper understanding of the different items and their purpose and may help you in your daily walk with our precious Lord and Saviour;
.. Ephesians 6:10-18
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints"
If you would like to read about it I've included a website.

Hope it helps. Sorry for being so long.
Reply:The armor of God, listed in Ephesians chapter six, represents several ways Christians are to ward off the attacks of a spiritual foe, as the Scripture says, "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand" (Eph. 6:13).
The armor protects us against the devil: "Put on the whole armor of God, that yu may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Eph. 6:11). The armor protects us not against physical forces, but the deceits of our spiritual enemies.
Note that armor is effective only if we wear it. It is also only effective if we recognize the foe before us. Any Roman soldier will be cut down if the enemy causes the soldier to let his guard down long enough to disarm and kill him.
If we do not believe the devil is crafty, we will not seek protection. We usually start to wear the armor only after an attack and we wondered how we could have fallen. When we've been lied to, we start to gird our waists with the truth. When we've been idle and feel guilt and horror over a wasted life, we start to shod our feet with the gospel of peace. When we find ourselves in despair, then we'll value the shield of faith. When we've sinned and wonder whether we're saved, we'll see fit to add the helmet of salvation. When the enemy is pressing the attack at our weak points, we'll finally lift up the sword of the Spirit in earnest.
All of it is put on in prayer, for all of it depends upon how much we depend on God for His help.
Reply:The Armor of God symbolizes the protection of God for believers.
Reply:Eph. 6 list them; also note they protect the front of a person, not the back. (Does that mean we are not to run from the enemy)?
Reply:Ephesians 6 gives the whole suit of Armour for a follower of Jesus
Reply:Mainly knowledge.....havving the whole armour of god is being armed like a knight but only you are armed with the "accurate" knowledge of god...........with it you can defeat anybody.....
Reply:Ephesians 6
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
In order to have this armour, we need to have a relationship with God...see the first link
Reply:personally i think bible study is when you study the bible, reading scriptures and about various topics. it can be done by yourself, a partner or in a group. at my church we have bible study every Wednesday and talk about certain topics about in our daily lives- other religions/beliefs, witchcraft, angels, and other topics people may have questions about. its a time to feed your spirit and fellowship with saved and non-saved people. look at II Timothy 2:15 .
the armor of God-Ephesians 6:10-20: in the christian life we go through storms(obsacles) we have to battle aganist rulers and authorities . to withstand these attacks, we must depend on God's strenght and use every piece of His armor. everypiece represents something that God wants us to have to survive.
*and its best to read from a study bible and NLT.

Reply:Ephesians 6:10-20 tells us, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."
Reply:(As everyone else has already said...)
The Armour of God is our Spritual protection against the attacks of Satan and our own fallen nature.
The Belt of Truth (in biblical days men would tuck their cloak and such into thier belts to enable them to run and fight more easily.)
Sandals (or boots) of the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace
[Ro 10:15 and how shall they preach, if they may not be sent? according as it hath been written, ‘How beautiful the feet of those proclaiming good tidings of peace, of those proclaiming good tidings of the good things!’ (YLT: Young's Literal Translation) ]
Sheild of faith
Helmet of Salvation
Sword of the Spririt (the Word of God)
Ephesians 6:11-20
"11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world–rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,
19 And on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak." (ASV)
