Is bible study like a great big game?

One after another, the bible questions are all the same... It appears to be an exercise in, "Read this and tell me what you think it means."

Your opinions please.

Is bible study like a great big game?
a really dull, boring game
Reply:No! People need to hear the truth! over and over again if

necessary.
Reply:I'm sure you see it that way but I see it different
Reply:no it can be understood more with footnotes and the spirit
Reply:In churches this tends to be what it is. But it isn't what it should be. Anyone who wants to understand the Bible should make use of a good academic commentary on the book they are studying. Otherwise it is all subjective and not likely to get at the actual meaning of the text, written in a different language, culture, and period in history.
Reply:Bible study is to help the believer to develop a personal relationship with the God they serve through Jesus Christ. The bible acts as our instruction from God as to how we are to please Him. For the same reason your parents instruct you.

When you were in school, a good teacher did the same thing. Tell me what did you get out of this. This was design to have you to think through your answer. Not just give you the answer.

It is not a game. It is about life, and life is not a game.
