Yeah I'm 15 and latly i've started questioning the bible alot, and i have done a lot of reseacrh and I know that the bible isnt true. Its a book of myths and I'm realing wasting my time, going to the meetings and studing when i could be out doing something better. Anyway whats the best way to end it without being rude?
Best way to lose a bible study?
ask those hard questions... you will be uninvited real soon...
Reply:No disrespect intended but I really doubt that you have researched as much as you say. There are very few 15 year olds who will spend that much time researching anything.
I know of well educated people who have spent years researching this very thing and they have turned to God instead of turning away from God.
Is you research based on someone else telling you things and showing you a few Scriptures that seem to be saying what they told you? Are they using another book to persuade you that they are right? Use caution my dear as you are playing with your eternal soul.
There is nothing better you could ever do with your time than a true Bible Study. That does not mean there might not seem to be more fun things to do. Enjoy your young life with the many fun things that you can do but please don’t turn away from God to do them.
As for as the atheist statements here on this site; do you really want to trust your eternal soul to anyone that you do not know? I include my self there so continue studying and research with an educated person like your pastor before you make this important decision.
Reply:Have you read the Bible completely your self?
What have you researched, that shows it's not true.
Ferrar Fenton, a translator of the Bible, said something remarkable about that book. He called it “the only key that unlocks the Mystery of the Universe to Man, and the Mystery of Man to Himself.” Yes, the Bible answers questions about the past, the present, and the future. It tells us where we came from, what the meaning of life is, how we can find happiness, and what the future holds for us. No other book in history has been as influential as the Bible; nor has any other book survived so many virulent attacks.
. Granted, the Bible is not a science textbook. Yet, when it does touch on subjects relating to science—such as the order in which living things appeared on earth, the shape of the earth, or the proper treatment of infectious diseases—the Bible says nothing incorrect.
. Why not do as a chief justice of the United States Supreme Court did? In the same way that he tried cases in court, he impartially investigated the evidence for and against the truthfulness of the Bible. With what result? He said: “I have come to the decision that the Bible is a supernatural book, that it has come from God.”
Reply:You can just stop going... If you have studied the bible and come to the conclusion that it's not true. I would keep studying if I were you. Because it is....Men much smarter , much older and much more educated then you have come to the conclusion that it is true.... God bless you !
Reply:As a Christian, I can tell you, that God would rather, you be "up front" and just plainly, quit going to Bible Study. God wants people, who want to worship Him - not "have to" worship Him. Since God is love, love gives you a choice !
Far, too many young people or teens tend to go to church only because he or she is made to, by his or her own parents. Young people when of age, need to be allowed to decide for themselves, whether or not, he or she WANTS to attend church and learn about God. Young people - like older ones [adults], have to come to see the NEED for a spiritual relationship with his or her own, Maker ! Life's experience and time CAN help one to achieve this.
Reply:How in the world did you find proof AGAINST the Bible?! sorry but all your proof... Not true. You should do some more research. Ask the leader at your group about how scientists came up with millions or billions of years when the Bible says its just been thousands of and if that answer doesn't convince you read the book Refuting Evolution by Jonathan Sarfati
http://www.amazon.com/Refuting-Evolution...
http://www.gorepent.com/creation.html I really like the info this site offers
Reply:Although I don't agree with your statement that the Bible isn't true, I would be honest with your group, with an email would be best- that way you don't get into the weirdness that some people/denominations throw out (i.e. you're a sinner, you're going to hell, we will pray for you, etc). Don't get verbose, stick to the point and if you have real Christian friends, they WILL pray for you and not make you feel bad, its not their job to do that. Jesus came to build relationships with His people, not to force kids to stay in bible studies. The key with this is to make sure to talk to your parents, they should have an vested interest in you're decisions, and how you are feelling now. Your beliefs are your own, but you should respect them by talking to them about what your going through...and remember when you are questioning anything- always seek the truth, not what someone tells you is the truth...know that you know that you know...- peace
Reply:I would be polite about it.
thank them for having you in their group and tell them it isn't for you. Tell them how "happy" you are that they will Respect your decision to not believe as you will Respect their choice to believe.
Ya never know, you may have found some friends there. You don't want to burn any bridges.
Reply:Another child awakening!! Good for you kid. It's awkard to do and not expect 45 people knocking on your door saying that they want to pray for you, but if you stand your ground and tell them exactly why you have come to the conclusions that you have - they'll find it difficult to explain away.
Reply:Kindly tell them that you want to re-consider the meetings and bible study. Tell them that after giving it much thought, you don't think it's for you. They'll understand.
No one can force you to join, you are free to choose your own religion and believe in your own beliefs.
Reply:Just don't go any more...but what is MVP? This guy on the net today said some thing that really made my mind spin...he said "What if satan the master of lies created the bible to throw us off track and then blamed it on God' ..I never thought of that before ...but what if it's true? Who can you believe any more?
Reply:don't do it! the bible is the only truth left in this world! jesus was the only good thing that happened here. the entire reason we are here is because of god! as for science, they've proven god's existance!! genisis says "and god said". if you break an atom (the smallest thing on earth known to man kind, you get sound. voices make sound. god made sound when he said " let there be light", "let animals fill the land %26amp; sea", ect.l as for the theory that the world started from a single cell. proven wrong. a cell is made up of four basic gases. if you mix these gases together, you do not get a cell that will reproduce itself and make a whole nother earth! so as you can see if you have any more questions about bible stuff contact me. kristenkkrox@aol.com
Reply:Just explain that you have already benefited by attending the group and that you have decided that the bible group is not for you.
Reply:Be up front about it. Tell them that you can appreciate that they believe this stuff is true but you don't believe it and have decided that you will not be studying anymore. Tell them that if you ever change your mind, you will contact them.
Reply:Read "Romans 10:9"
(you will Only Have to Read it Once)
see, The Word of GOD will NOT Come Back "Void"! :)
See Ya' in Heaven!!!
Your Brother in Christ---Maguyver!)
Reply:Just stop going... Man up.
Or you could tell them that you've decided to join the Franciscan Catholic church, which strictly forbids bible study, say because they believe only the priests should read the bible...
Reply:Like most 15 year old you should get out while you still know everything.
You would be wise to not seek yourself and remain in God, because unlike us he doesn't change.
Reply:Just stop going. Say your not interested in it anymore
Don't let people shame you into going to something you don't want to
Reply:Ask them to explain Deuteronomy 13, which tells you when to destroy villages and stone your entire family.
Reply:Walk in wearing a pro-Communist hat and hand out Atheist pamphlets.
How I got out of Catholic school anyway.
Reply:Sounds to me like you are looking for excuses to rebel, just like Satan, Adam and Eve.
Reply:Just tell them what you told us. There is nothing wrong with that. You will start getting trashed later on but who cares, you are no longer brainwashed.
Reply:Do what i did stop attending bible study simple as that. You are not obligated to go and no one can force you.
Reply:before you question the Bible, question yourself
Reply:i'd tell 'em what you typed here on the phone...so it'll be easier to avoic them trying to set up future discussions on the matter
Reply:Just stop going. They would be rude to keep you there.
Reply:tell them you have swimming lessons at the exact same time as bible stufy
Reply:Tell them the truth. If they think that's rude, tough.
Reply:The kid who likes pro wrestling is telling us about fairy tales, lol
Reply:dont end it.
it isnt fake its real.
this is why our world is like it is today.
less and less people are believeing in god.
its sad.
dont leave god.
make time for god he is the most important thing in our lives.
